Depending on your gear and type of video styles you shoot, you can easily adjust the DSLR rig into the following four mounting styles:
Low Shot No. 1
From its folded state, rotate the two side bars and lift up the foam-padded handles 180° upward, and you will have a basic low shot setup. Both foam handles are vertical so you may hold onto them and anchor your elbows at right angle for a steady grip.
Low Shot No. 2
By rotating the central column and opening the two foam handles into right angles, you will be able to hold the DSLR rig on the horizontal handle. This will give you a comfortable, low shot position, useful especially for dramatic tilt shots.
Shoulder Mount No. 1
When using the rig with a DSLR camera and shooting in Live View, you would have better control with the camera closer to your body’s centre of gravity. You can do this by rotating the central column 180° from its folded position and adjust the two handles so it can rest on your shoulder. With the two side grips pointing downward, you can grab onto them and rest your elbows on either side of your upper body. This shoulder mount will restrict your movements but give you great stability.
Shoulder Mount No. 2
Similar to the first shoulder mount, this one would suit larger video camcorders. Depending on how you set the two side foam handles, you would have your elbows at right angles. With the camera or camcorder sitting further away from your body, you would have better movements. There is an extendable draw tube on the central column grips that provides micro adjustments for an ergonomic mount.
At the end of each handles is a 1/4” female screw mount which allows easy connections with other accessories and lighting equipments such as LED light panel and external monitor. The base plate, located in the centre of the DSLR rig, has a standard 1/4” screw for attaching cameras or camcorders. Whilst on the bottom is a female 1/4” which allows you to mount the DSLR rig onto a monopod or tripod.
