Since 1952, Marumi has been a world-renowned label of professional optical products for photographic use. This Japan made circular polarizing (CPL) filter is one of the example of its craftsmanship.

This polarizing filter enhances the contrast and saturation of color. It is extremely useful for outdoor photography, since it will add contrast to the sky and clouds, the rainbow and many halo phenomena. By blocking some of its polarized light out, the sky is darkened, and the contrast between the sky and an unpolarized cloud is enhanced. It can also block reflections on water and window glasses.

The circular polarizing filter consists of a linear filter and a circular polarizer thereon, to make the light circularly polarized and therefore its intensity would not change after subsequent reflections.
