We rarely question the source of light of a photo, but in film set lighting, there often exists a working pattern to the source of light. I think it is common practice to create a light source resembling (1) ambient light coming from outside the windows, (2) artificial light from ceiling bulbs, or (3) other lamps in an interior environment. If a location shooting job requires the photographer to shoot under a defined light source, there will surely be less room for creativity.

It is not easy to shoot a picture with dramatic effect except that the situation is one of those handled by a photo journalist. In those cases, the picture has its own story to tell and it tells it all.

I used to favor the spirit of candid camera when the picture itself tells its own stories. It seems that the photographer has such a great mission, that by releasing the shutter speed within like 1/1000 of a second, he captures and brings to the viewers the magical moments which come out of natural happenings, that can only be accomplished through his sensitivity and outstanding level of skills.
